N.Z. MEAT FOR JAPAN
Direct Shipment From Taranaki (N.Z. Press Assootattoe) NEW FLYM. April 28 A full load of New Zealand refrigerated meat will be taken direct to Japan from Now Plymouth by a chartered whaling vesast next week. She will take 490 tons of ewe mutton and 50 tons at beef. The Japanese whaler is the 1177-ton Keiko Maru, which is due off New Plymouth tomorrow. Her capacity of 500 tons refrigerated space will be filled by mutton and beef from the Waitara and Finding works of Thomas Borthwick and Sone, Ltd. The vessel is coming from Tobeta and will return to discharge at Kobe. One of the whaler fleet of Miami Kaium Kalsha, Ltd. the Keiko Maru was chartered by the Japan agents of Borthwicks, C. Itoh and Company.
