Table Tennis CHAMPIONSHIPS IN 1962

N.Z. Title Allocated To Canterbury (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 28. The 1962 New Zealand table tennis championships and the inter-association teams championship will be held in Canterbury, the New Zealand Table Tennis Association decided at its annual meeting today. Both Wellington and Canterbury applied to hold the championships, but as it was the 75th jubilee of the Canterbury association next year the meeting voted in the latter’s favour. Canterbury was also allocated the 1962 inter-island contests for men and women. The North Island championships will be held by the Bay of Plenty association at Tauranga while Southland will be the host for the South Island championships.
