Shipmaster’s Appeal.—An appeal by Robert Russell Hay. the master of the motorvessel Portland, against a conviction in the Wellington Magistrate’s Court on a charge of exceeding the permitted maximum amount of cargo carried on the hatch of his vessel was heard yesterday in the Supreme Court. Mr Justice McCarthy reserved his decision.—(P.A.)
