Theft Of Tobacco
Cigarettes and tobacco valued at £5O were stolen from the Flamingo dairy in the Main North road on Wednesday night. About £1 in pennies was also taken. Entry was gained by forcing a window. The Seventh-Day Adventist Church conference rooms in Bealey avenue were entered, a window being forced, and two clocks were stolen. Driving Lessons at School. —The Tasmanian Education Department is starting a special scheme to instruct senior school children in driving. A special circuit at a Hobart High school and three new English cars have been provided. Where pupils are taking non-academic courses, driving tuition may replace some hobbies period. —Hobart, Reuter.
