April 27 The Soviet Deputy Foreign Minister (Mr Valerian Zorini said today that the Soviet Union would stand by its promise to come to the aid of Cuba if it was attacked. He said the Soviet Union viewed the question of aid to Cuba even more seriously than Britain regarded its pledge to Poland just before World War 11. “If the Soviet Union says it will extend assistance, it will extend assistance,” he told a press conference.
