Public Conveniences
Sir, —From time to time, there are complaints about the condition of public conveniences in various parts of the province. In my opinion as a custodian of conveniences in a little seaside village, some of the public are to blame. They appear to be void of all moral worth, and have the inherent instincts of the farmyard. They don't deserve well-kept flush lavatories; the old-fashioned army style should be good enough—a pit, a rail, and a
piece of scrim. The latest trick in my conveniences is, • to use the floor and not the proper receptacle. Yours, CUSTODIAN. April 26, 1961.
