Alcoholism

Sir, —I- agree with “F.T.M.” on alcoholism, and as a young mother will tell my children that it is not, as most men seem to think, being a “man” to be able to take a drink with the others, but being able to say “No” and not fear the ridicule of the others, who are feeling ashamed of themselves. If drink affected only those who make such fools of themselves round the place, it would not matter quite so much, but how can the little children grow up to have a healthy and innocent outlook on life seeing that kind of thing round the home? It is just the influence of the home that makes children what they grow up to be?—Yours, etc., . „ A MOTHER. April 7, 1957.
