Club Competitions Open
The 1957 season of the inter-club billiards tournament, held by the Canterbury Amateur Billiards’ Association, opened this week, with good play in all four sections. In the A grade, St. Albans Recreation scored a three-point win. In the B grade, Lyttelton Railway and Woolston W.M.C. I, and in the C grade, Lyttelton Railway and St. Albans Library, and the D grade Tramway and W.M.C., did likewise. Results were:—

I (Hewinson 200, McCormack 200, Bromley 200) beat Woolston W.M.C. II (Mintrum 165, Williams 114, Bryden 108); W.M.C. I (Copp 200, Trezise 160, Pitcaithly 200) beat W.M.C.
