ANNUAL MEETING OF PENSIONERS
About 140 members attended the annual meeting of the Christchurch branch of the New Zealand Pensioners’ Association. During the discussion on the report and balance Miss M. B. Howard, M.P., proposed that the accounts for the Sunshine Corner be presented to members with the other financial reports of the branch. This was approved. Later she suggested that a committee consider the revision of the branch’s rules. The secretary (Mr F. H. Rix) said after the meeting that this would be done and that a revised set of rules would be put before the members. The meeting agreed that an honorarium be paid to the secretary and the retiring treasurer. Mrs R. Thomas presented the report for the Sunshine Corner. Officers elected were:—President, Mr R. J. Roberts; vice-presi-dents, Mr F. Rogers and Mrs R. Thomas: secretary, Mr F. H. Rix; treasurer, Mr E. Moore; committee —Messrs J. Donaldson, G. Garner, W. Hardy, G. Phillips, L. Seaward, H. Yates, Mesdames A. Millar, Rix, V. Seeking, and W. Stent
