Final Dividend For The Year

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 5.

The directors of the National Bank of New Zealand, Ltd., recommend a final dividend for the year ended March 31, 1957, of 5 per cent., less United Kingdom income tax at the full standard rate of 8s fid in the £. This, together with the interim dividend of 4 per cent, paid on January 15, brings the yield up to 10} per cent, for the year on the capital before reorganisation in January, 1957, compared with 10 per cent, last year. The dividend is payable on July 2. Net profit for the year ended March 31 amounts to £269,108. compared with a net profit for last year of £227,447. MINING Following were the returns from dredges operated by Gold Mines of New Zealand, Ltd., for the month of April:— Arabura Dredge.—943 ounces of bullion gained from 206.000 yards of material, excavated in 456 hours. Kaniere Dredge.—B6o ounces of bullion gained from 285,000 yards of material, excavated in 444 hours.
