Tony Lock, the Surrey and England left-arm slow bowler, yesterday answered the West Indies, whose exponents of the turning ball raced their team to a win over Worcestershire in less than two days. Lock, taking seven wickets for 47 runs, routed the M.C.C. batsmen at Lord’s and gave the champion county its second win in its first two first-class matches. Earlier it had beaten Cambridge University. Lock’s first-class bag this season is 19 wickets for 142 runs. Surrey, 318 for eight declared and

199 for six declared (Clark 99) beat M.C.C. 149 and 130 (Hallam 58. Lock seven for 47) by 238 runs. At Cambridge, Yorkshire, 348 for nine declared and 157 for five declared beat Cambridge University 159 and 134 (Cook 61 not out. Close five for 29) by 212 runs.
