DIGNUS BEATEN IN SYDNEY
The Christchurch-owned three-year-old. Dignus, was beaten in his heat of the Sydney Pacing Derby at Harold Park on Saturday night. Driven by J. D. Litten, Dignus was having his first start in Sydney. He was never far away, but could make no impression on First Knight over the last furlong. Caduceus, which started from 48 yards, finished second to Radiant Venture in the Invitation Thousand Lady Wexford (Young Bob—Wexford Rose) won her race She is raced in partnership by Mr A. E. Lovett, of Christchurch, with the Sydney trainer, A. Phillis.
