Woman Injured In Collision

A woman suffered serious injuries when the car in which she was a passenger was involved in a collision with another car which had got out of control on the Main South road near Templeton on Saturday afternoon. The collision occurred about 4.45 p.m. when a car driven by Mr Oliver Francis Watson skidded first on the wet surface and then in shingle, and swerved across the road into the oncoming traffic. The injured woman, Mrs Mildred Wilson, of Ashburton, was a passenger in a car driven by Mr Joseph Burrowes, which was involved in the collision.

No other persons were injured, although both cars were severely damaged. Mrs Wilson was taken to the Christchurch Public Hospital, where she was admitted. Her condition was reported last evening to be fairly satisfactory.
