BOUT FOR KITIONE LAVE

(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, April 30. The Tongan heavy-weight, Kitione Lave, will meet the Blackpool heavyweight, Brian London, in an openair contest at West Hartlepool on June 17, the West Hartlepool boxing promoter, Mr Walter Hazeltine, said today. Each boxer is to receive a purse of £lOOO or the option of a percentage of the gate—believed by Mr Hazeltine to be the largest purse offered for a north-eastern promotion in Britain. The date for the fight is subject to alteration, and is not expected to be confirmed until Lave returns from Canada. He went there last Friday for a short campaign. Mr Hazeltine said today that he would have been unable to bid so high for the contest had the entertainment tax on boxing not been abolished.

London is due to fight Marcel Linkage, of Belgium, in Cardiff on May 27.
