CAR SKIDS ON FROZEN ROAD
Collision With Bus (New Zealpna Press Association) WANGANUI, May 2. After skidding on an icy road surface at 7.30 this morning, a station waggon, driven by Mr J. S. Cherry, a contractor, of Taihape, collided with the passenger bus from —the naval station at H.M.N.Z.S. Irirangi, driven by J. E. Daykin. The bus was on its way to Taihape The smash occurred in a narrow gorge at Hihitahi. No-one in the bus was injured, but five passengers in the car driven by Mr Cherry were taken by ambulance to Taihape Hospital. They were Messrs R. J. Stent, W. Blane, H. Terry, R. Bowdler, and J. Caulcott, all of Taihape.
