SWEDISH BAN ON N.Z. VEAL
Removal Thought Likely
(From Our Own Reporter)
WELLINGTON, May 1. Sweden’s ban on imports of New Zealand veal is still in force. It it not likely to be removed until the Swedish Government has had a full report on hygiene in meat works in this country from its veterinarian, 'Dr. T. Blom, who recently inspected these works. So far as is known Dr. Blom was favourably impressed with conditions in New Zealand export works. It is believed likely that he will recommend to his Government the lifting of the ban. The New Zealand Government is taking no action until it learns the nature of Dr. Blom’s report and the intentions of the Swedish Government.
