DARFIELD FARM SOLD

Passed In Earlier At Auction A 738-acre freehold agricultural, cropping and fattening property near Darfield was sold for an undisclosed figure in Christchurch yesterday. Earlier it had been offered at auction on account of the trustees of the estate of Mr S G. Broughton. It was passed in at £46 an acre—£33.94B. Better known as Balgonie, the land is subdivided into 25 paddocks. There is a nine-roomed bungalow on the property. Bidding opened at £35 an acre, and rose by 10 bids of £1 and two of 10s. About 100 persons attended. Greenpark Farm A little more than 93 acres of cropping and dairying land at Greenpark, near Hudson's road, was passed in at £ll2 10s an acre £10,462 10s at another auction. The land was offered on account of Mr E. E. Watkins. There are 14 paddocks subdivided mainly by gorse fences. At present 30 acres of the land are in two and three-year-old pasture. The balance is in permanent grass There are two houses on the property—one a five-roomed bungalow, and the other a four-roomed bungalow. Bidding began at £lOO, and rose _ by two £5 bids and one of £2 10s.
