Trotting POSITIVE SWAB FROM FARO

Inquiry Opened At Auckland. (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, May 1. An inquiry into the report that a positive swab was taken from the pacer Faro at the Cambridge Trotting Club’s meeting on March 30 was opened in Auckland today and adjourned.

The inquiry was conducted by Messrs A. W. Wallace (chairman), stipendiary steward, A. E. Dodd, deputy-stipendiary steward, and D. H. Blackie, judicial steward of the Cambridge club.

When approached after the hearing Mr Wallace refused to state whether any charges had been laid.

Faro, a 10-year-old gelding by Gamble from Afterglow, won the Vedette Handicap at Cambridge. He is raced in partnership by his trainer, L. V. Poynter, of Sandringham, and Mrs C. C. Poynter.
