One For Three Bonus Issue
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, May 1. Bartholomew Timbers. Ltd., Hamilton, is making a one-for-three bonus issue by writing up the value of the company’s land to the Government valuation. The issue will raise paid -capital by £25.000 to £lOO,OOO. The issue, which has the consent of the Capital Issues Committee, is the second bonus issue in the company’s history. At the end of 1953, an identical issue to the current one was made, raising paid capital from £50,000 to £75,000. This was done by capitalising £15,000 from the reserve account, and £lO,OOO from the profit and loss appropriation account. Shareholders will be asked to approve of the issue. The company’s shares were traded in Auckland for the last time in March at 37s 6d. On the Auckland Stock Exchange today buyers offered 36s at the morning call, to raise their bids to 38s at the final call, but no sellers came forward.
