Press Association—Copyright) GEELONG, May 1 There was practically a total clearance of the 20.000 bales offered at Geelong wool sales today, with the offering comprising more than 65 per cent, comebacks and crossbreds. All descriptions met strongest competition, and prices held steady, in line with those established yesterday at Geelong. A feature of the sale was the intense demand for fine crossbreds. and all skirtings. Chief buyers were the Continent, the United Kingdom, and local mills Prices were: good to super. GO/64’s, 124|d: good to super. 56’s. 107 d; good to super 50’s. IOOd. Brisbane Values Firm In Brisbane today, woolselling brokers reported a complete clearance of the 16,717 bales offered with competition very keen from the Continent, Britain, and Japan. Values were very firm on yesterday’s improved rates.
