ASSAULT AND UNRULY BEHAVIOUR

Magistrate Imposes £2O Fine (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, April 30. Describing John Graham Duffy as the leader of a group that set themselves out to become “complete pests” in an Auckland theatre, Mr M. C. Astley, S.M., fined him £2O on charges of assault and disorderly behaviour when Duffy appeared for sentence today in the Auckland Magistrate’s Court. At his earlier appearance the Court was told that Duffy and his group drank liquor during a screening, refused to leave when told to, and that Duffy struck the manager when being escorted to the office. Duffy was remanded in custody while awaiting sentence. Today the Magistrate fined him £lO on each charge.
