S.A.S. SQUADRON IN MALAYA
Return To Active Operations (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 30. The New Zealand Special Air Service Squadron yesterday moved back into the jungle for 10 weeks of active operations against Communist terrorists in an area that has been kept “warm” by strong patrols since the squadron came out on March 15 for six weeks of recuperation and retraining. The squadron now has its full quota of F.N. 30 rifles, which will replace the carbines hitherto used on patrol, in addition to the Bren and Owen sub-machine guns.
