Skelton rode as badly as he had seen at Randwick for a long time, the racing writer “Cardigan” said today when writing on the Easter racing carnival in Sydney. “Cardigan” added: “Not only did he allow Sombrero to tail off in the Sydney Cup, but he ran into another horse on the turn, which cost him the race.” “Cardigan,” writing in the “Melbourne Herald,” said in another race Skelton allowed On Parade to run right off the course, and did the same with Decisive in the Final Handicap last Saturday. “Skelton appears to have little control over his mounts, and at the finish the reins are usually down about the horse's knees,'* said the writer.
