AUSTRALIAN WOOL PRICES FIRM

There was a full clearance of the 16,923 bales offered at Brisbane wool sales today, with competition very spirited, particularly from the Continent and Britain. Japan gave' good support. Values generally were par to 2£ per cent, up on yesterday's. Stylish broad quality types brought keen demand. About 50 per cent, of the catalogue again showed shortage in length because of premature shearing. Geelong Prices There was a total clearance of the 15,600 bales offered at Geelong wool sales today. Principal buyers were the Continent, East Europe, the United Kingdom, and local mills. Prices included:—■. Extra super 60/64’s, 129 d; good to super, 60/64’s, 124$d; good to super 58’s, 112 d; good to super 56’s, 108 d; good to super 50’s, 99d; good to super 46 s, 93d.
