Macabre Painting For Academy
LONDON, April 29. A picture of the actor, James Dean, at the moment of his death is destined to be the macabre sensation of this year’s summer exhibition at the Royal Academy, savs the “Daily Mail.” It was painted by John Minton, the 39-year-old ‘‘Van Gogh of Chelsea,’’ who died in January from an overdose of drugs. The painting shows Dean spreadeagled across the seat of his wrecked car in the background, and a group of people clustered round him.
