“FESTIVAL OF FLOWERS”

Screening By Film Society A colour film produced by Mr Roy A. Evans, “Christchurch Festival of Flowers,” was shown by the Christchurch Film Society in the Civic Theatre last evening. The title of the film might well have been “Festivals of Flowers,” because it was a composite of floral displays during the Centennial celebrations, the Royal visit in 1954 and the floral week as recently as last February. The photography throughout was excellent and the audience expressed its appreciation. Seven 16 millimetre films were shown, the programme opening with the film which the Christchurch City Council presented to the Queen, titled “Christchurch— New* Zealand’s Garden- City.” All were of the documentary, type and provided a good sample of the pictures screened at meetings of the society.
