RUAPEHU SEARCH ABANDONED
(New Zealand Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, April 29.
The eight-day search for Mr Egon Lehner, who disappeared on the slopes of Mount Ruapehu, was abandoned today. During a last comprehensive sweep of the western slopes yesterday, footprints and a ski cap were discovered. Today a party of 12 made a last search in the area where the footprints were found and of the bed and shores of Tama Lake, a small body of water on the north-eastern slopes of Mount Ruapehu.
