Two Mayors’ Names In Labour Ballot The names of two mayors have gone forward for the selection of a Labour Party candidate for the Lyttelton seat in the General Election. Mr F. G. Briggs, Mayor of Lyttelton, said last evening: “It’s not official yet, but I can confirm that my name is in the selection ballot.” Mr N. E. Kirk, Mayor of Kaiapoi, who was considered as a possible Labour candidate in the Riccarton by-election, would not confirm last evening that he had been nominated. It is understood, however, that his name is in the,ballot.
