LOVING CUP.—Dressed in early seventeenth century costume, Commander Alan Villiers, master of the Mayflower 11, drinks from an ancient loving cup on the quay at Plymouth, Devon, just before setting sail for New England. With Commander Villiers is the Lord Mayor of Plymouth (Mr W. J. Oats). The Mayflower II is a replica of the vessel which carried the Pilgrim Fathers to America in 1620.
