Pacific Spot Wins Big Event (New Zealand Press Association) T - . DUNEDIN, April 28. Visiting boats dominated the Otago and South Island speedboat championships contested during the weekend in the Taieri river gorge. The Australia and New Zealand title-holder. Pacific Spot, raced by D. Syme (Christchurcn), was practically in a class of its own and had no trouble to annex the Otago 91 cu. in championship title. A light outboardpowered Southland boat, Santa Fe, driven by K. Driver, was second. G. Wallace’s Comet was third.

Results:— South Island Championship.—Pacific Spot (D. Syme, Christchurch), 1; Prometheus (M. Keen, Southland), 2; Skipit (L. Marks, Otago), 3. Otago 91 cu. in. Championship.— Pacific Spot 1, Sante Fe (K. Driver, Southland) 2; Comet (G. Wallace, Dunedin), 3. D Class South Island Outboard Championship.—Electra Too (R. Field. Southland), 1; Hurricane 2, Sante Fe 3.
