Condition Of Todman
(N.Z. Press Association Copyright) MELBOURNE, April 27. The Sydney trainer, Maurice McCarten, was today reported to be greatly concerned about reports on the condition of the chginplpn year-old, Todman*.
The "Age” racing writer, "Heroic,” said McCarten commented last night: ‘‘There is very little wrong with Todrhan. To say he may not race again is entirely without foundation. Except for slight soreness because of a bruised hip, the colt is perfectly normal.”
"Heroic” said Todman was believed to' have suffered the bruised hip when he knocked it in the float on the way back to his stables from Randwick on Thursday. He said the bruised hip would give the impression that Todman was favouring a hind leg. McCarten said the soreness would wear off in a few days.
Press reports about the champion had said that he was lame after his winning run on Thursday, and that his racing career might have ended because of a leg injury.
