Fruit Prices

Sir, —Jamaican oranges are lid per lb while New Zealand apples are Is and Is 3d. This looks bad for the New Zealand producers. Surely they could do something to raise the price of Jamaican oranges. The marketing boards are slipping. The workers do not care what they pay so long as they get plenty of overtime, and those who live off them are paying so much tax that prices do not matter while they live on the best. Do not ruin prosperity by upsetting controlled prices.— Yours, etc., JAMES F. ANDERSON. April 26, 1957.
