LAKE HAWEA HYDRO-ELECTRIC CONTROL WORKS.—The partly-built sluice block, viewed from the upstream portal, showing the four sluices in which radial gates will be fitted. A concrete retaining wall will rise 15ft above the sluice block, and the massive earthwork of the dam will then be tamped solidly into position across the top of the block.
