EMPIRE ATHLETIC CONTEST FOR SCHOOLBOYS PROPOSED
r FHE British Empire and Com1 monwealth Games Federation will consider at its meeting in London on July 15 a scheme by which scholboy athletes in the Empire may compete against each other. The scheme was devised by the Milocarian club in England. No travelling will be involved in the competition, the scoring . system used being similar to that for the Empire schoolboys’ rifle
shooting. Details of the scheme are:— Any school, college, or educational establishment may enter an unlimited number of boys, aged 15 to 17 on January 1, provided at least 20 per cent, of the eligible boys compete, with a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 25. The competition would be -conducted on the school’s own playing field. Each boy must enter performances for three events. The method of scoring is to award points for each performance in an event from the Milocarian scoring tables, which are based on the International' Amateur Athletic Federation decathlon tables. The trophy is awarded to the school with the biggest average score a boy.
