AUSTRALIAN TEAM’S TOUR
N.Z.’s Invitation Not Accepted (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, April 26. There will be no tour by an Australian State side at the end of this season. At tonight’s annual meeting of the New Zealand Rugby League the president (Mr J. W. Watson) said that he had heard in the last few days that a Queensland team was not available for a tour here. Earlier, the Australian Board of Control said it would take "no action” on the New Zealand invitation. The election of officers resulted: — President, Mr J. W. Watson; vicepresidents, Messrs W. C. Davies (South Auckland), D. A. Hicks (Taranaki), W. F. Kerr (Wellington), L. Huston (Canterbury), D. D. A. McPherson (West Coast). T. P. Paikea, M.P. (Maori Board of Control); council, Messrs G. G. Plant (Auckland), C. H. Siddle (South Auckland), J. C. Kay (Taranaki), C. R. Moore (Wellington), W. F. Moyle (Canterbury), W. A. Swift (West Coast), E. K. Asher (Maori Board of Control); honorary medical officer, Dr. F. J. Gwynne; honorary solicitor, Mr W. R. Edge.
