English Football Players Suspended

MANCHESTER, April 25. A joint England Football League and Football Association commission today suspended four Sunderland players and one former player of the club. The commission met to investigate alleged payments received contrary to the regulations of the league and association. Afterwards, it announced that Ray Daniel, Billy Elliott. Willie Fraser, and Johnny Hannigan, all . of Sunderland, and Ken Chisholm, formerly of Sunderland, would be suspended indefinitely for having * refused to answer questions. Earlier this month, the Sunderland club was fined £5OOO and had several of its officials suspended for alleged irregular payments to players.
