PEDESTRIAN HIT BY CAR

A pedestrian, Mr Clifford Barnham, of 48 Orbell street, Sydenham, suffered chest and face injuries when he was knocked down by a car at the corner of Moorhouse avenue and Montreal street about 8.15 p.m. yesterday. He was admitted to the Christchurch Public Hospital, where his condition last evening was satisfactory. It is believed that Mr Barnbam told the motorist whose car struck him that he was not injured. It was not until some time after the motorist had left that he felt the effects of his injuries. The driver of the car is. requested to get in touch with the Central. Police Station.
