£25,000 For £l0 For Double Winners

(N.Z. Press Association Copyright) SYDNEY, April 26. Five punters closely associated with the Electro Stables won £25,000 on the Doncaster-Sydney Cup double for an outlay of only £lO.

They coupled the New Zealandowned Doncaster winner, Slogan, with Electro, the cup winner, at odds of 2500 to 1. The double odds came down to 200 to 1 last week. The bookmakers who paid out the £25,000 also paid £15,000 to another Sydney punter. Among bookmakers who reported doubles “skinners” or “near-skinners” was one who had offered 3000 to 1 against the winning combination.

Doubles wagering on the two big Easter races is estimated to have totalled £250,000.
