ACCIDENT TO RAIL-CAR
Board Of Inquiry Appointed
The General Manager of Railways (Mr A. T. Gandell) today announced the members of the departmental board of inquiry which will examine the causes of the Otira tunnel mishap last Tuesday.
The board will comprise the chief mechanical engineer, Wellington (Mr R. F. Black), the chief civil engineer, Wellington (Mr L. Clark), the transportation superintendent, Wellington (Mr F. R. Murray), a representative ot the Engine-drivers’, Firemens’, and Cleaners’ Association (Mr B. F. McLaughlin, of Christchurch), and a representative of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants (Mr A. Finlayson, of Christchurch).
