WOMAN BURNT TO DEATH

Fire In House At Temuka

(New Zealand Press Association) UMARU, April 26. An elderly spinster was burnt to death in the bedroom of her home in Hornbrook street, Tesnuka, this morning. She was Catherine Melville, aged 72. The Temuka Fire Brigade received a call to the fire in the house which Miss Melville occupied with her brother, Mr Martin Joseph Melville, about 8.30 a.m. The outbreak in the bedroom was a 'small one, but Miss Melville was dead when the brigade gained entry. Her room was in the front of the house, which was an bld building.
