WRECKED FISHING BOAT
Rough Weather Stops Search (New Zealand Press Association) INVERCARGILL, April 26. High winds and rough seas in Foveaux Strait prevented the search being continued today for the two men who were aboard the Bluff fishing vessel, Gekeita, the wreckage of which was found on rugged Coal Island, in Preservation Inlet, on Wednesday. The men were Athol Joseph Waddick, a 34-year-old married man, with one child, and his brother, Cyril Waddick, both of Invercargill. Another fishing launch, the Buda, carrying two policemen, set out from Bluff early this morning for the inlet, but was forced to turn back when near Centre Island.
A police party will fly to Coal Island by amphibian tomorrow if the weather is favourable.
