No Tax for Chimpanzee.—A spokesman for the Internal Revenue Service said that Betsy, the chimpanzee whose paintings have earned more than 900 dollars, does not have to pay federal income tax. The spokesman said: “Betsy’s performance, when money results, is done for the city and is not taxable.” Betsy’s home is the Baltimore Zoo and the zoo director, Mr Arthur Watson, acts as her agent.—Baltimore (Reuter)
