Kingster Wins By A Length

(N.Z. Press Association Copyright) SYDNEY, April 25. The Sydney weight-for-age performer Kingster today won the AllAged Stakes at Randwick over the same distance (one mile) at which he failed in the Doncaster Handicap. The New Zealand horses. Ray Ribbon and Ma Reine, were among the horses he defeated today.

Backed to 9/4 favouritism in the Doncaster. Kingster locked his hind leg at the barrier and was left badly, but came with a tremendous rush in the straight to finish fourth. He w<as called a certainty beaten in the race, which was won by Slogan 11. Today. Kingster beat Lindbergh by a length, with Aboukir another length and three-quarters further back. Ray Ribbon was fifth and Ma Reine sixth. The star sprinting two-year-old Todman received a mixed reception on his return to scale after easily winning the six furlongs Champagne Stakes. A number of racegoers hooted Todman and his rider, N. Sellwood, but just as many clapped and cheered. Todman, starting at 6/1 on, was easily beaten by Tulloch in the Sires’ Produce Stakes (over seven . furlongs' last Saturday. Today. Todman was again at odds-on. but he defeated the New Zealand-bred Tulloch by six lengths, with Diamond Vista a length and a half away third. Todman covered the distance in Imin lOsec, equalling the fastest time ever run by a two-year-old. The seven furlongs of the Sires’ Produce Stakes was the longest distance Todman has ever tackled. The New Zealand horses. Decisive and Lochie, finished fourth and sixth respectively in the nine-furlongs City Handicap. The race was won by Teranyan by a length and a Quarter from Co Supreme, with Fire Flash a short half-head further back third. Results:— CHAMPAGNE STAKES, Of £2450. Two-year-olds. Six furlongs.
