COLOUR-BLIND PAINTER
A 19-year-old painter’s apprentice was rejected as unfit for military service because he was colour blind. Medical officers made a doublecheck, believing he was simulating, but convinced themselves that the young man was' unable to distinguish colours in any small patterns. The apprentice told the doctors that he had worked in his profession for several years without ever receiving a complaint
