DUTY ON IMPORTS FROM AUSTRALIA
Review By Board Of Trade (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 23. “The Board of Ttade is reviewing the position in relation to the general traiff review,” the Minister of Industries and Commerce (Mr E. H. Halstead) said today, when a complaint from the Associated Chambers of Manufacturers of Australia was referred to him. The association contended that the continuation of the present value-for-duty procedure adopted by the New Zealand Government nullified to a degree the reciprocal tariff concessions obtained by Australia under the current trade agreement with New Zealand.
