FOY WINS AT FEILDING Margin Of Seven Lengths
(New Zealand Press Association) PALMERSTON N., April 22. Revelling in the going, which was cutting out, Foy led all the way to win the Edmund Goodbehere Memorial at Feilding. Foy won by seven lengths from Gold Pin, which was handy all the way. Pine Grove ran on for a good third. Wanganella completed a double for the meeting by winning the Oroua Hack Cup in good style from Resemblance in a photo finish. An outsider. White Thea, filled third place just ahead of Dunray. A feature of the meeting was the success of the C. W. Ansford (owner) and W., W. Philp (trainer) combination. They won five races at the meeting, and Philp won the trainers’ trophy. The double, Foy and Wanganella. paid £66 5s for £l. The racing was held in showery weather, and soon after the first race the track started to cut out very badly. The totalisator handled £53,634, as against £60,130 10s last year, a decrease of £6496 10s. The total for the meeting was £126,839, a decrease of £15,833 10s on last year.
