Port Chalmers Wins N.Z. -Contest
(From Our Own Reporter) WAIMATE, April 21. r The Port Chalmers Harmonica Band, with 228 points, won the New Zealand Harmonica Bands’ Association’s two-day contest concluded at Waimate tonight. The Christchurch Harmonica Band, with 214 points, was second, and Skipper’s Harmonica Band (Christchurch), 212, was third. Results:— Section I.—Hymn test: Port Chalmers, 74, 1; Christchurch, 72, 2; Skippers, 68, 3. March: Port Chalmers, 77, 1; Skippers, 75, 2; Christchurch, 71, 3. Selection: Port Chalmers, 77, 1; Christchurch, 71, 2; Skippers, 69, 3. Section 2.—Sacred song: Fre-de-Vans, 70, 1; Silver Rhythm, 69, 2. March: Silver Rhythm, 76, 1; Fre-de-Vans,. 75, 2.
