CHILDREN’S VISIT TO WELLINGTON

Social Studies Trip In Term Holidays

Next week 32 school children from the Cust district will make a one-day educational visit to Wellington. The visit has been arranged by Mr H. A. Barnett, head teacher at Cust School, for the first week of the term holidays so that some of last year’s form II pupils, now at high school, can also go. Mr Barnett originally planned a visit to the West Coast and the glaciers, but decided to take advantage of the organised trips to Wellington, which include visits to a motor assembly works. Parliament Buildings, the zoo and several other institutions. He intends making a social study trip every second year so that all pupils in the school will have the opportunity of going on one of them while they are in forms I or 11. One of the assistant teachers. Miss M. Jones, will help Mr Barnett to supervise the children during the trip.
