100-Mile Car Race At Bathurst
(N.Z. Press Association Copyright) SYDNEY. April 22. New South Wales drivers filled the first four places in the 1957 Bathurst “100,” the 100-mile race on the Mount Panorama circuit, today. The New Zealander. Tom Clark, in his Super Squalo Ferrari, once owned by the famous international racing driver, Peter Whitehead, woh Group A of the racing car (scratch) event over three laps. The results of these races were:— Bathurst “100,” 26 laps (scratch).— A. Glass (N.S.W.), H.W.M. Jaguar, Ihr 24min 32sec, 1; J. Robinson (N.S.W.), Jaguar, Ihr 24min 48sec, 2; R. Snodgrass (N.S.W.), Lago Talbot. Ihr 26min 44sec, 3: J. Johnson (N.S.W.), MG TC, Ihr 27min 38sec, 'Handicap Section.—l J. I. Johnson, race time, Ihr 31.065ec, 1; A. Glass, Ihr 31min 27sec, 2; J. Robinson, Ihr 31min 44sec, 3: T. Griffith (NJS.W.J, T.R. 2, Ihr 36min 59sec, 4. Group A.—Racing car (scratch), three laps.—T. ClarK (N.Z.), Super Squalo Ferrari, Bmin 40.345ec, 1: A.
