Liquor Destroyed In Huge Fire

(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 9 p.m.) AMSTERDAM, April 21. About 400,000 bottles of port, sherry and vermouth and thousands of gallons of wine in barrels were destroyed in a fire which gutted three large Amsterdam paper warehouses last night. The wine was stored in cellars under the warehouses. A hundred firemen fought the huge blaze, which was one of Holland’s largest post-war fires. It could be seen 25 miles away.
